Ribbed Smoked Sheet

Ribbed Smoked Sheets (RSS) are a form of natural rubber processed from unsmoked sheets (USS). The process of creating RSS involves coagulating the latex using acids, rolling it into sheets, and then drying it in smokehouses. This method gives the rubber sheets a distinctive smoky scent and a brown colour. The sheets are ribbed to enhance their surface area, facilitating faster drying.

The quality of RSS is assessed based on visual inspection and cleanliness, with the grading system ranging from RSS1 (highest quality) to RSS5 (lowest quality). The criteria for grading include colour, elasticity, purity, and the absence of foreign materials.

RSS is primarily utilized in manufacturing of high-performance tires, hoses, conveyor belts, floor mat and gaskets, other automative components.
